Reed Diffuser Care

Reed diffusers are a great way to add a constant, subtle fragrance to your home or office, without the need for an open flame or electricity. To ensure your reed diffuser continues to work effectively, it's important to take proper care of it.

In this blog, we'll guide you through the essential steps for reed diffuser care.

Choosing the Right Location

Selecting the right location for your reed diffuser is the first step to ensuring it works efficiently. Place it in an area with good air circulation, but away from direct sunlight, heating vents, or air conditioning. These elements can cause the fragrance oil to evaporate more quickly, reducing the diffuser's lifespan.

Flip the Reeds Regularly

Reed diffusers work by drawing fragrance oil up through the reeds and dispersing it into the air. To maintain a consistent scent, flip the reeds every 1-2 weeks. When you first set up your diffuser, allow the reeds to absorb the oil for a few hours before flipping them. This helps initiate the diffusion process.

Keep the Bottle Sealed

When not in use or if you need to store your reed diffuser temporarily, always keep the bottle sealed with its original cap or a stopper. This prevents the fragrance oil from evaporating prematurely and ensures you get the most out of your diffuser.

Replace Reeds When Necessary

Reeds can become clogged or covered in dust, making it difficult for them to continue diffusing effectively. If you notice a decrease in scent intensity, it may be time to replace the reeds. Additional reeds can be purchased separately.

Experiment with Reed Quantity

The number of reeds you use can also affect the strength of the fragrance. If you desire a stronger scent, add more reeds to the diffuser. Alternatively, if the scent is too overpowering, reduce the number of reeds in the bottle.

Spillage

Please note care should be taken not to spill the diffuser base on any surface. If spillage occurs wipe away immediately. The diffuser base may permanently stain or damage surfaces if prolonged contact is made.

By following these useful tips, you can ensure your reed diffuser remains effective for an extended period.
